Problem Statement/Component Description
Assess the reliability of a electric component/prototype using ALT (Accelerated Life Testing). The stress factor is temperature.

Testing Conditions

Sample size: 25 units
Input voltage: 110V Cycling: 4sec/12sec (on/off)
Stress Factor: Temperature
Testing Temperature: According to Figure
Evaluation Criteria: R(4900 cycles)>= 99% under Evaluation Stress Profile

Main Difficulty: Due to operational restrictions the testing stress profile took the shape of Figure 1. But the component had to be evaluated according to the use Temperature Profile (Figure 2). This Evaluation Profile would be very difficult to be put into practice.

Approach:
Execute the testing under a feasible/operational stress profile (Figure 1) and evaluate under the use stress profile (Figure 2). That's what we did!!!

Outcome:

Testing Results: R(8928) =99% Under Evaluation Stress Profile
Required Reliability: R(4900)>= 99%
Status: Approved !!

Conclusion:
The software came in the right time, it would not be possible to analyze our testing without this ALTA version. It provides us much more testing flexibility, it means testing cost reduction (hardware) due to increased simulation capability. As well as time saving and more accurate reports.
