Free Product Updates to Versions X.5.1 (w/Weibull++ 7 Integration)

Include Integrated Weibull++ 7 Support

With the release of Weibull++ 7, ReliaSoft upgraded all of its products to support Weibull++ 7 (version 7.0.5 or later). These updated products are re-versioned to X.5.1 (i.e. BlockSim 6.5.1, ALTA 6.5.1, etc.) and include support for both Weibull++ 7 and Weibull++ 6 (depending on which version you have on your system).

These updates are free (via download) to registered users.

When updating to the new X.5 versions, please note the following:

  1. Because this is a new version, not a service release, after the installation you will be prompted to enter your license number and re-register (activate) the product. Before running the installation, please locate and record your license number. This was originally placed on the last page of the User's Guide. You can also get the license number from the first page of the User Setup screen (File | User Setup).
  2. It is recommended that you uninstall the previous product version (i.e. 6.X.X) before installing the new one. The uninstall will only remove the product components. Any files you created will remain on your hard drive.
    • Even though this uninstall is not required, if you later uninstall the old version, you will be required to re-install the X.5.1 version.

Q: What products does this affect and when are the updates going to be released?

  • BlockSim 6.X to 6.5.1 - Released
  • RGA 6.X to RGA 6.5.1 - Released
  • ALTA 6.X to 6.5.1 - Released

Q: Why is the size of the downloaded files so much larger than usual?

A: This is a free version update, not a service release. To provide compatibility with Weibull++ 7, all product components were modified; thus the install file is larger.

Q: We have a network license. What do we do?

A: Do not use this setup. ReliaSoft will mail you the upgrade along with instructions.

Q: I don't have Weibull++ 7. Do I need the update?

A: We recommend that you update your software because future service releases will be based on the X.5 version. Thus, to take advantages of these, you will need to upgrade to the latest release. ReliaSoft will not issue any service releases for the prior version.
