The Demo is a Standard Xfmea/RCM++ Database – No Installation Required
The demonstration database file (fmea_accelerator_demo.rx4) is a standard Xfmea/RCM++ database that can be opened directly by the software WITHOUT any special installation or licensing. When you purchase one or more FMEA Accelerator® templates, you will need to go through the full installation and license activation process but that step is not required to view the demonstration data.
Two Ways to Use the Demonstration Database to Evaluate the Tool
There are two ways that ReliaSoft recommends for you to use this demonstration database:
- Review Available Templates: You can use the System Hierarchy from the demonstration database to see a list of all of the FMEA templates in the full collection. This will give you an idea of what templates are available so that you can choose which items to purchase. [See Also: Available Template Collections]
- Review a Small Sample of Template Data: The demonstration
database includes partial analyses for three components:
- 940 – Gearbox_Oil Lubricated
- 1240 – Pump_Centrifugal_Mag Drive_Close Coupled
- 1260 Pump_Centrifugal_Motor Drive
- This sample data is intended to give you an idea of how the FMEA templates are structured and the type of information that is available. Each partial analysis will consist of 1 function, 1 or 2 potential functional failures and their related effects, causes and potential maintenance strategies. When you purchase a template, you will have access to the entire data set. For example, the partial Pump_Centrifugal_Motor Drive template that is distributed with the demonstration database contains 1 function, 1 potential functional failure and 3 possible causes of failure but the full template contains 4 functions, 22 potential functional failures and 70 possible failure causes.
