Using the Templates in Xfmea or RCM++

The FMEA Accelerator® has been designed for use with ReliaSoft's Xfmea or RCM++ software. These applications make it easy to search for and import data from the FMEA templates into your own analyses. Once you've imported the template data, you can modify and expand upon it to complete your specific analysis.

After you have installed FMEA Accelerator® on your computer and enabled the components that you purchased, you'll be able to access the data in three different ways within the software: Import Existing Items (Browse) window, Import Existing Items (Query) window or Select Existing window.

Import Existing Items (Browse)

Choose System Hierarchy > Import/Export > Import Existing Items (Browse) to launch a flexible utility that allows you to import data from another database or from the FMEA Accelerator® templates that are enabled on your computer. You have the option to import:

  • The entire FMEA template that has been defined for one or more selected components.
  • Your choice of the FMEA template data that has been defined for a selected component.

This utility allows you to browse through available data displayed in a hierarchical tree structure and select the specific item and/or FMEA data that you wish to import.

Import Existing Items (Query)

Choose System Hierarchy > Import/Export > Import Existing Items (Query) menu to activate a powerful utility that allows you to search for a component from another database or from the FMEA Accelerator® templates that are enabled on your computer and import the entire FMEA that has been defined for each selected item.

Select Existing Window

Function, Failure, Effect, Cause and other descriptions from the FMEA templates that are enabled on your computer can be included in the "Select Existing" window that is accessible throughout the software. Simply select FMEA Accelerator® on the Options page to activate this source for the descriptions displayed in the alphabetical list.
