New Product Release - RGA 7 for Reliability Growth and Repairable System Analysis
TUCSON, AZ (September
24, 2009) - ReliaSoft Corporation announced today the release of a new
major version upgrade to the RGA software for reliability growth
analysis and fielded repairable system analysis. This completely updated software
product was developed in cooperation with Dr. Larry Crow, the leading
authority in the field of reliability growth analysis, as well as key
development partners in government and industry. RGA provides all the
tools you need to plan your reliability growth strategy and analyze data
from developmental tests. The software also helps you to apply one of
the reliability growth models — the
non-homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) — for fielded repairable system
analysis without the detailed data sets that normally would be required.
In addition to a completely updated and enhanced user interface, RGA 7 provides many powerful new and enhanced features, including:
-
The Growth Planning Folio allows you to define the amount of time planned for each phase in the testing program along with settings that describe the planned reliability growth management strategy. You can use this tool to make estimates about whether you will be able to achieve your MTBF goal with a given management strategy or to determine what strategy will be necessary to meet the established goal.
-
Multi-Phase Data Sheets make it possible for you to enter data from multiple phases of testing, using "Event Codes" to specify the end time for each phase, the specific test times when fixes were implemented and other details that can be considered by the model.
-
You can use the Multi-Phase Plot to link the reliability growth program plan with your test data in order to track the progress and determine whether you will need to make adjustments in the remaining test phases in order to meet your MTBF goal.
-
The Mission Profile Folio helps you to create a balanced operational test plan and track the actual testing against the plan to make sure the data will be suitable for reliability growth analysis.
-
Based on the NHPP model, the Repairable Systems Design of Reliability Tests (DRT) utility will help you to determine the amount of test time (or number of test units) that will be required to demonstrate a specified reliability goal for a repairable system (defined in terms of MTBF or failure intensity at a given time).
-
The Monte Carlo Data Generation utility allows you to create data sets with values randomly generated based on the NHPP model. The SimuMatic® tool expands on this capability by automatically performing specified analyses on a large number of simulated data sets. For example, you may wish to use this tool to experiment with the impact of sample size or test time for reliability demonstration tests or to construct simulation-based confidence bounds.
