We are pleased to announce that Ford Motor Company has chosen ReliaSoft’s Weibull++ and BlockSim software applications to support their reliability and maintainability (R&M) requirements for machine tool suppliers. As part of Ford’s continuous improvement process, a program for supplier reliability and maintainability is currently being rolled out worldwide. ReliaSoft and its partner, the American Institute of Quality, a well-known Detroit consulting and education firm, will be responsible for providing software and training to both Ford and supplier R&M engineers. The intent of the program is to:

  • Standardize and simplify analysis and reporting with statistical accuracy.
  • Become more knowledgeable of equipment performance and root causes of failures.
  • Apply lessons learned to design new, more reliable equipment.

ReliaSoft has been working closely with AIQ, Ford and representatives of the machine tool supplier community to develop an industry specific version of Weibull++, aptly named Weibull MT. The enhanced version will be available in July 2001 with the BlockSim MT version due to be released shortly thereafter.
