Process Control and Improvement |
Course Overview
This three-day course covers the tools/principles necessary
to gather and analyze data, investigate and establish the
stability of a process, determine the capability of a process
and institute continuous process improvement.

Course Outline
Specific topics covered include:

Basic
definitions of quality
-
Graphical methods such as Pareto Diagrams,
Scatter Plots and Box Plots, (3) basic probability
and statistical tools necessary to understand
SPC principles

Control charts for variables such as X(bar)
and R charts
-
Control charts for attributes such as P
and U charts
-
Moving average and range charts
-
Special control charts selected to meet
the needs of the participants
-
Process capability indices such as Cp,
Cpk and Cpm
-
How to institute process improvement actions
based on process capability indices and/or
designed experiments
All topic areas will be augmented with practical
application examples.
This course requires 24 contact hours. It is
offered as a three-day course.
