Introduction to RCM Principles and Applications and RCM++
Course Overview

This two-day course presents an overview of the fundamental Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques and procedures, including equipment selection, identifying functions and potential failure modes, evaluating the effects of failure and selecting appropriate maintenance tasks. ReliaSoft’s RCM++ software will be used for hands-on application examples.
 

Course Outline

Day 1 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Day 1 presents an introduction to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and an overview of the fundamental techniques/procedures. Topics include:

Day 2 Morning 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The morning session of Day 2 introduces RCM++ and covers many of the features of this versatile application, from setting up the database to generating FMEAs and reports. Topics include:

  • Benefits of Using Automated Software
  • Overview of Analysis Steps in RCM++
  • Organizing information in databases and projects
    • Working with databases with and without Login Security
  • Working with Profiles and Libraries to customize the interface and the analysis:
    • Enable/disable and/or rename data fields
    • Determine RCM logic diagrams
    • Set classifications, categories, priorities and other menu options
  • Understanding the Hierarchical, Worksheet and Filtered views
  • Data entry shortcuts, including copy/paste, import/export, phrase libraries, etc.
  • Support for RCM Logic
    • Equipment Selection Methods
    • Failure Effect Categorization
    • Maintenance Task Selection
  • Maintenance Task Cost Calculations
  • Maintenance Task Packaging

Day 2 Afternoon 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The afternoon session of Day 2 is a hands-on workshop using the RCM++ software, with case study examples tailored to individual applications.

Hands-on Workshop

  • Work through a detailed training guide with step-by-step instructions to complete sample analyses that demonstrate the capabilities of the RCM++ software.
  • Discuss implementation options for your particular analysis procedures and reporting requirements.
