Obtain latest
translations for French and German interfaces for Xfmea 4 and RCM++ 4.
Issue
Discussion:
In 4Q 2009, ReliaSoft made significant improvements to the French and German translations for the
interface and predefined library settings in Xfmea 4 Standard, Xfmea 4 Enterprise and RCM++.
This document provides instructions for how to update your computer
with the latest translations.
Solution:
- Download and install the latest Service Release for the
software (CRV 4.0.9, built 22-Jan-2010).
- Download and install the following "hotfix." [To
download the file, right-click the link and choose Save Target As
(or the equivalent command for your Web browser.]
- Optional for Xfmea 4 Standard and RCM++ 4: If you want to
update your computer with a new default library that will
give you
access to the latest translations for the
predefined configurable settings, you can download the file
from this Web page (Defaults_FR.lb4
or Defaults_DE.lb4) or
take the following steps to allow the software to create the new
file for you.
NOTE: If you have already customized the library on your
computer and you wish to leave the file unchanged, you can skip
this step.
- Delete the default library file that currently resides in
the application folder. The filename will be Defaults_FR.lb4 for French or
Defaults_DE.lb4 for
German. By default, the application folder is C:\Program
Files\ReliaSoft\Xfmea4 for Xfmea Standard, C:\Program
Files\ReliaSoft\eXfmea4 for Xfmea Enterprise or C:\Program
Files\ReliaSoft\RCM4 for RCM++.
- Run the software and make sure the interface displays the
desired language. If it does not, choose File > User Setup
then select the language (French or German) on the Other
page.
- Choose Tools > Profiles/Libraries Manager.
If you receive a message indicating that the default library
will be restored, click OK. If you do not receive a
message, then click the Reset Library button when the
Profiles/Libraries Manager window opens.
Please note that some of the text you see in the French or German
interface of Xfmea or RCM++ will depend on the configurable settings
that have been defined for the particular analysis project that you
are working with. If the properties for the current project were
defined in English or if they were set based on an older version of
the predefined library that was shipped with previous builds of the software, then you
will not see all of the latest translations. To reset the properties
for any particular based on the latest version of the default library, choose
Project > Project Properties then click the Use
profile to set properties button and choose a profile from the
drop-down list. Click OK to save the changes.
