What's New in Version 10? XFRACAS

Here's a quick overview of the main new and improved features in XFRACAS 10.

Easier to Reassign Responsibilities

You can now reassign all of the incidents, problems, projects and/or actions that belong to a given user in a single operation. This streamlines the process of transferring responsibilities when, for example, a user changes teams or leaves the company.  

Customize Task Order in Personalized Portals

In Version 10, we have added more flexibility to customize the portal to meet your personal preferences. Each user can now customize the order in which tasks are displayed in the personalized XFRACAS Portal page.

Find and Reuse Existing Text

For text-intensive fields such as descriptions, XFRACAS now offers the ability to select and reuse existing text that has been entered in corresponding fields. This functionality can be controlled by user permissions.  

Print Previews

We've added print preview capabilities for CSI records and projects in Version 10. In addition, you can now add detail fields that create customized print previews for CSI, Failure Analysis, Incident, Problem and Project pages based on your own *.xslt files. This allows you to configure the printed output to look exactly the way you need it to for a specific case, such as information to be sent to a customer.

Better Integration with Active Directory®

We've added the option to associate any XFRACAS user group with the Microsoft Active Directory security groups that your organization already maintains. If a user needs to be added or removed from a user group, the XFRACAS administrator can manually sync the group to reflect the changes made in Active Directory.  

 More Flexibility for Import Scheduling

The Data Import page allows you to import data of various types from *.xml files into XFRACAS. For each type of import (e.g., Incident, Problem, Project, System, etc.), you can now change the schedule that controls when the import is performed.  

New Methods in the Synthesis API

The Synthesis Platform's Application Programming Interface (API) enables you to facilitate customization or to integrate Synthesis applications and data with other systems used by your organization. We've added several new XFRACAS-related methods to the Synthesis API, allowing you to set a timeout command and to insert system metrics such as run hours and number of starts.

View XFRACAS Data in Synthesis Desktop Applications and Enterprise Portal

Now you can use any XFRACAS report as a data source in the Synthesis Data Warehouse (SDW). This enables the team to use the SDW in Weibull++, ALTA and RGA to extract any type of XFRACAS data and use it to create custom dashboards to fit your specific needs.

If your organization has implemented the Synthesis Enterprise Portal (SEP), those users will be able to view the dashboards from any web-enabled device, even if they don't have direct access to XFRACAS! The SEP also provides a link to the XFRACAS site for users who have access to both.

Analyze Subsystem Data in RGA

The Synthesis Data Warehouse in RGA now also allows you to extract reliability-related data for subsystems, if desired. When you analyze XFRACAS data in RGA folios, you can now choose whether to perform the analysis at the system or subsystem level.

Same Item Categories as Synthesis Desktop Applications

The new Item Category detail type allows you to apply the same Item Categories that are used to manage analyses in Synthesis desktop applications. The categories are imported when parts are imported from Xfmea/RCM++/RBI.
