How to Confidently Accelerate Life Tests
Getting test results faster is always of interest, and accelerated testing – increasing the test stress and projecting that to the use condition – is one common approach. However, the questions of model choice, projection uncertainty and assumption validity often render tests less informative than initially hoped. This webinar will discuss several strategies how to build confidence in accelerated test results, highlighting the importance of understanding the physics of failure and how intelligent test planning can make you more confident in use-level life projections.

Notes from the presenter
Thank you for your participation! We hope we were able to provide you sufficient insight into approach to accelerated life testing . A few points came up during the post-webinar Q&A that we would like to elaborate on here:
- ReliaSoft ALTA has many useful capabilities for analyzing more complicated models with multiple stresses and time-varying stress that haven’t been discussed here.
- Certain life-stress relationships such as the Peck model or the Norris-Landzberg model can be used in ALTA using the General-Log-Linear relationship.
- Other tools in ALTA, such as Accelerated Test Design and Accelerated Degradation Analysis, can be used to further build confidence in accelerated testing in your organization.
- Finally, some of you mentioned or implied a fatigue failure mode. nCode software provides some excellent tools for dealing with, understanding and accelerating fatigue testing – the recorded webinar “Introduction to Fatigue and Durability” is a good starting point.
